Hoffmann's stories are hard to believe, but isn't life surprising too? The proof is the fact that the " Oleg Danovski" National Theater of Opera and Ballet in Constanța presents this title on the most important opera stage in Romania. 

We chose to perform this show to the inspired music of Jacques Offenbach, and we are sure that you will be humming the Barcarolla at the end of the performance, that you will be amazed by the charming trills of Olympia, and that you will mourn the fate of Antonia, the singer doomed not to be able to sing, even though the singing is her life. You will agree with the poet Hoffmann and you will understand his wanderings as an eternal lover, that  " this is the life of an artist" and you will also understand the courtesan Giulietta, because we meet her at every step. 

Hoffmann's stories, charming, strange and fatal, perfectly match what we are not and would like to be, or the beautiful dreams that fade in the dawn of day. And we all find ourselves speaking the same language, without ever having learned it, MUSIC, food for the soul, medicine for the body, the joy of a summer evening at the Opera.
