Madame Butterfly is a touching love story of a young Japanese woman, Chio-Chio-san, to US Navy Lieutenant Pinkerton. The plot is based on a novel by John L. Long, but the real immortality of the "girl from Nagasaki" was given by the Italian composer G. Puccini. He was shocked and deeply moved by the love story of a beautiful geisha to an American sailor.
