Founded in Gdańsk in July 2017, the Weimar Women's Triangle invites you to a concert of songs from Germany, Poland and France titled "Das moderne Mädel" / "The Modern Girl". It is a musical story about women in Poland and Germany in the interwar period, the star of which will be the mezzo-soprano Marta Wryk. MARTA WRYK graduated from the University of Music. F. Chopin in Warsaw and the Manhattan School of Music in New York. His performances include: in Germany and the USA. In Poland he cooperates with, among others: with Capella Cracoviensis and pianist Laura Sobolewska. Their performance at the International Festival "Chopin in the Colors of Autumn" was hailed as the discovery of the festival. The concert, along with a networking meeting scheduled after its conclusion, is intended to support women in the fight for their rights. The singer will be accompanied by pianist Tomasz Prasqual and moderator Anna Kowalczyk TOMASZ PRASQUAL composer, sound architect and pianist. He studied composition, electronic composition, piano and conducting in Poznań, Cologne and Düsseldorf, and completed master classes with Karlheinz Stockhausen, Peter Eötvös, Brian Ferneyhough, Mark André and Christian Wolff. Significant impulses in his pianistic development were given to him by prof. Klaus Oldemeyer from Cologne. His works have been commissioned, among others, by: by the Polish National Opera in Warsaw, Deutschlandfunk, Deutsche Kammerphilharmonie Bremen, Staatstheater Posen, Städtische Bühnen Münster. As a musician-performer, he performed with the artistic collective Nico & The Navigators in Berlin. His piano activity focuses on German and French baroque music, the works of Fryderyk Chopin, 20th century music, contemporary improvisation and songs (duet with mezzo-soprano Marta Wryk). He worked as an expert artist for the European Commission. As a music educator, he led the projects "Wie klingt Freiheit" and "Sichtbare Stimme" commissioned by the Bonn Opera, as well as numerous creativity and improvisation workshops. ANNA KOWALCZYK journalist, writer, publicist and activist. Author of the bestseller "The Missing Half of History. A short history of women in Polish lands" (2018), the first popular science synthesis of the history of women in Poland from the Paleolithic to the present day. President of the Women's History Museum Foundation, whose mission is to research and tell stories in a fair and inclusive way, taking into account the role and potential of girls and women, as well as supporting and taking actions to eliminate gender discrimination.
