With the Matthew Passion, Johann Sebastian Bach created a musical ritual for the faithful community of his time. At the center of Benedikt von Peter's production is a group of children who are acting out the passion. Orchestra, singers, choirs and audience come together as a large community. Singing clubs from Basel and the surrounding area are guests and support the theater choir, and the audience is also invited to sing. A co-production with the Deutsche Oper Berlin.,
