Imagine, you can get into a magical forest, get to know its fabulous inhabitants and even get countless treasures. You just need to be kind, hardworking and help in difficult times, like Dunya, the heroine of the opera Morozko. But if you are greedy and lazy, like her half-sister Froska, then a miracle will never happen to you ...
The glorious Dunya and her father live in the old house, and with them - the malicious Baba and her daughter Froska. One day Baba decides to get rid of her stepdaughter Dunyushka and sends her to the forest for brushwood. It is fierce winter, cold, frost outside, but the girl cannot disobey her stepmother and sets off. Dunya finds herself in a fairy-tale forest, where she meets a variety of inhabitants - magical blizzards and blizzards, squirrels, bunnies, bullfinches. But now, going deep into the thicket, the girl realizes that she has lost her way - she cannot see either brushwood or the way home. Suddenly, out of nowhere, Morozko appears. He promises to help Duna, but in return the girl must pass all the tests of the forest wizard.
The opera Morozko was shown for the first time in 1950. The musical tale of the Soviet composer Mikhail Krasev, written according to all opera canons, immediately fell in love with young spectators. After the premiere of the opera on the stage of a branch of the Bolshoi Theater, Morozko was successfully staged at the Maly Opera Theater in Leningrad, the Krasnoyarsk Opera and Ballet Theater, this opera was opened in 1965 by the Children's Musical Theater named after N.I. Sats.
