Mozart's Symphony No. 38 'Prague'
Mozart was already held in high esteem in Prague, and when he single-handedly premiered Symphony No. 38 on his first visit, the audience was delirious. The fact that Mozart came to Prague because of the enormous success of his opera Le Nozze di Figaro is clearly audible: the symphony is compelling and has enormous theatrical eloquence.

Sinfonia concertante with Timothy Ridout
Mozart's Sinfonia concertante for violin, viola and orchestra is a rare successful cross between a concerto and a symphony. The young violist Timothy Ridout is a big name in England, where he played at the BBC Proms. With his debut with the Netherlands Chamber Orchestra, he is now also storming the Dutch stages. Between Mozart's two compositions is the world premiere of the Turkish-Dutch composer Meriç Artaç, a rare multi-talent.

Mozart werd al op handen gedragen in Praag en toen hij bij zijn eerste bezoek eigenhandig de Symfonie nr. 38 in première bracht, was het publiek uitzinnig. Dat Mozart naar Praag kwam vanwege het enorme succes van zijn opera Le Nozze di Figaro is goed hoorbaar: de symfonie is meeslepend en heeft een enorme theatrale zeggingskracht.

Mozarts Sinfonia concertante voor viool, altviool en orkest is een zeldzaam succesvolle kruising tussen een concerto en een symfonie. De jonge altviolist Timothy Ridout is een grote naam in Engeland, waar hij al speelde bij de BBC Proms. Met zijn debuut bij het Nederlands Kamerorkest bestormt hij nu ook de Nederlandse podia.
