Das Libretto von Temistocle Solera inspirierte Verdi zu musikalischen Höhenflügen: Mit «Va, pensiero, sull’ali dorate» schuf er den wohl berühmtesten Opernchor aller Zeiten. Die Uraufführung von «Nabucco» 1842 an der Mailänder Scala war der Beginn seiner triumphalen Karriere als Musikdramatiker.

Nach Verdis «Giovanna d’Arco» und Bellinis «I Capuleti e i Montecchi» zeichnen erneut Yves Lenoir und sein Team für die Inszenierung und Ausstattung verantwortlich. Die musikalische Leitung hat Franco Trinca inne.
