To celebrate the end is also to celebrate the beginning.  Although our idea of progress, evolutionary and linear, seems far removed from the circular view of life held by primitive civilisations, that way of thinking is still important, with many anthropologists considering it to be a structural part of the human psyche.

With his project Pangea, recorded in 2018 by the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra at the Abbey Road studios, Abraham Cupeiro invites us back to the early history of the planet, before the continents separated, when life was beginning to appear and evolve. To reconnect with Mother Earth, the composer turns to ancestral sounds and age-old instruments, such as the Hopi flute from Native America, the traditional Chinese hulusi flute and the Celtic carnix.

Celebrar el final és també celebrar el començament. Tot i que la nostra idea de progrés, evolutiu i lineal, sembla allunyada de la concepció circular de la vida per part de les civilitzacions primitives, aquella mentalitat no es troba completament desarrelada, ja que en gran manera és considerada per l’antropologia com a estructural en l’ésser humà.

Amb el seu projecte Pangea, enregistrat el 2018 per la Royal Philarmonic Orchestra de Londres als estudis d’Abbey Road, Abraham Cupeiro ens convida a remuntar-nos als inicis indiferenciats del planeta, abans de la separació en continents, en què la vida brolla i es desenvolupa. La reconnexió amb la mare terra s’assaja mitjançant sonoritats ancestrals i instruments mil·lenaris, com la flauta del poble hopi, la flauta tradicional xinesa hulusi o la trompeta cèltica càrnix.
