This year’s Nobel Week is as shimmering as it should be! The Nobel Prize Ceremony on 10 December comes home to Konserthuset Stockholm, and of course, another highlight is the Nobel Prize Concert. This year includes a performance from German opera star Diana Damrau, admired on opera stages such as the Vienna State Opera, the Metropolitan in New York and La Scala in Milan. With the Nobel Prize Concert, she now finally makes her debut at Konserthuset Stockholm and sings arias by Mozart. 

Mozart and the First Viennese School are of course specialities for Austrian conductor Manfred Honeck, who leads the Royal Stockholm Philharmonic Orchestra. In recent years, Honeck has also built a close relationship with the Royal Stockholm Philharmonic Orchestra. He is music director of the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra, and also conducts many more of the world’s most prestigious orchestras. He is a familiar name to many in Sweden after serving as chief conductor of the Swedish Radio Symphony Orchestra for years.

The Nobel Prize Concert is an annual event of the highest international standard. The concert is part of the official programme during Nobel Week and is a tribute to the year’s Nobel Prize recipients. In addition to the Royal Stockholm Philharmonic Orchestra, elite musicians and conductors also participate each year.
