Join us for a street party on Second Avenue North in front of The Collins Bar as we continue our Opera Shots concert series! We're closing down the street! Admission is free. Food and beverages are available for purchase from The Collins Bar. Lawn chairs and picnic blankets are welcome. _DSC0207 low res.jpg Opera Shots is our annual series of casual pop-up concerts throughout the community, held in unexpected places and designed to break down the stereotypes of opera. Opera Shots concerts feature members of the Opera Birmingham Chorus and surprise guest artists presenting an open-mic-style concert of the greatest hits of opera and musical theatre. The concert will feature: DeLee Benton Tessa Brown Rachel Boone Jordan Dark Noel Fendlason Temperance Jones Annabelle King Beth Olin Caitlyn Rodrigue Camryn Rodrigue Jonathan Michael Smith Marissa Talwa Lauren Tinsley Zoe Wirt accompanied by John Robertson on piano The performance will include selections from Faust, The Tales of Hoffman, Die Fledermaus,The Marriage of Figaro, Gianni Schicchi, The Pirates of Penzance, Hairspray, The Phantom of the Opera, Hamilton, Fiddler on the Roof, Cinderella, and The Princess and the Frog, among others. 102.jpg The Street Party is our last Opera Shots of the season, but the series will resume in the fall, as we pop up at unexpected locations all across the Birmingham Metro area.
