Operett-Maraton: Der Zigeunerbaron Strauss II (+4 More)

Az operett - tetszik, nem tetszik - a magyar színháztörténeti  örökség meghatározó műfaja. Korunkban végletesen megosztó színházi jelenség. Sokan kritikátlanul rajonganak érte, mások szemében vörös posztó. Az operaműfaj zenei és színpadi eszközeivel, Magyarországon a népszínmű, illetve a polgári társalgási színmű talaján létrejött hatalmas repertoár saját korában hatékonyan töltötte be azt a társadalmi szerepet, mely széles tömegek szórakoztatását volt hivatott kielégíteni; dallam-invenciója, népmesei történet-szövése, szerethető karakterei, szentimentalizmusa és humora, olykor folklorizálódó fordulatai már-már társadalmi, nemzet-karakterológiai tényezővé tették.
Mit kezdjünk vele a 21. század közegében? El tudjuk-e helyezni ezt a kétség kívül értékes zenét (olykor szellemes cselekményt és dramaturgiát) napjaink szellemi terében, meg tudjuk-e haladni az egyre zavaróbb anakronizmust? Lehet-e zenei értékeit, stiláris identitását megőrizve, korunknak megfelelő színpadi értelmezést kölcsönözni egy-egy operett-előadásnak?
Ezek a kérdések foglalkoztatták a Színház és Fillmművészeti Egyetem zenés színművész hallgatóit az Operettmesék elkészítésében. Novák Eszter és Forgács Péter rendezésében, Selmeczi György zenei irányításával emblematikus operettek sűrített változatait készítették el, melynek során modellezni próbálják az operett-színpadi gondolkodás számos lehetséges változatát.
Műsorra tűzték Strauss Cigánybárójának, Offenbach Szép Heléna, Sullivan Mikádó, Lehár Víg özvegy és Ábrahám Bál a Savoyban című operettjének egy-egy 60-70 perces foglalatát. A munka felhajtó ereje mindenkor a komoly felkészültség és a felszabadult játék egysége. Ezt az egységet próbálja érvényre juttatni tizenkilenc tehetséges fiatal színész-jelölt.

Operetta - whether you like it or not - is a defining genre of Hungarian theater history. It is an extremely divisive theatrical phenomenon in our time. Many people are uncritical fans of it, others see it as a red herring. With the musical and stage tools of the opera genre, the huge repertoire created in Hungary on the basis of folk drama and bourgeois conversational drama effectively fulfilled the social role that was meant to satisfy the entertainment of wide masses in its own time; its melodic invention, folktale story-weaving, lovable characters, sentimentalism and humor, and sometimes folklorizing twists made it almost a social, national-characterological factor.
What should we do with it in the 21st century? Can we place this undoubtedly valuable music (sometimes a witty plot and dramaturgy) in the intellectual space of our days, can we overcome the increasingly confusing anachronism? Is it possible to give an operetta performance a stage interpretation suitable for our time while preserving its musical values ​​and stylistic identity?
These questions preoccupied the musical theater students of the University of Theater and Film in the preparation of the Operetta Tales. Under the direction of Eszter Novák and Péter Forgács , with the musical direction of György Selmeczi , they created condensed versions of emblematic operettas, during which they try to model the many possible versions of operetta stage thinking.
A 60-70-minute segment each of Strauss' Gypsy Baron , Offenbach's Heléna Szép , Mikádó Sullivan , Lehár Víg the Widow and Ábrahám Bál a Savoyban operetta were scheduled for the program. The driving force of the work is always the unity of serious preparation and free play. Nineteen talented young actor candidates are trying to enforce this unity.
