Following UK Government advice issued yesterday that the general public should avoid theatres, the Young Vic has made the difficult decision to close its doors to audiences until further notice. In addition to the previously announced cancellation of Nora: A Doll’s House, we have ceased rehearsals for our upcoming production of Orfeus, and have postponed the production.
Ticket holders for the above shows will be contacted in the next 7 working days by the Young Vic Welcome Team, in order to arrange exchanges and credit notes. We ask you please bear with our small but brilliant team as they assist with this process. In order to manage this process as efficiently as possible for you all, we kindly request you wait for us to be in touch directly with you.
The health and wellbeing of our audiences, staff and artists continues to remain our upmost priority in every decision we take. Young Vic staff are being encouraged to work from home where possible. At this time, the Young Vic building will remain open, and we are currently exploring how we can best continue to serve our community over the coming weeks and months.

As a charity, we rely on ticket sales for a substantial portion of our income, and the insecurity ahead is a huge worry for those who work for and with us, as it is for the theatre sector as a whole.
