Franz Schubert is the romantic song composer par excellence. According to Christian Gerhaher, he was »unmatched in the diversity of his songwriting«. The baritone and his piano accompanist Gerold Huber lead us through the cosmos of Schubert's last songs, which were published posthumously as Schwanengesang . In addition to songs about world pain and existential needs, it is about love and longing in all its facets: Schubert describes the restlessness of the longing driven just as vividly as the calm of the fulfilled lover.
