Leider muss Christian Thielemann seinen Auftritt für dieses Konzert wie auch für alle weiteren Termine der Tournee krankheitsbedingt absagen. Wir wünschen ihm eine schnelle Genesung. Ein großer Dank gilt Marie Jacquot für ihre Bereitschaft, die Leitung des Konzertes mit geändertem Programm kurzfristig zu übernehmen. 

Marie Jacquot gehört zu den spannendsten Dirigentinnen der neuen Generation. Die junge Französin, ursprünglich Posaunistin, hätte auch das Zeug zum Tennisprofi gehabt, entschied sich aber für den Dirigentenstab und tauschte French Open gegen die großen Orchester und Konzertsäle dieser Welt, die sie gerade im Sturm erobert. In Köln navigiert sie die traditionsreiche Sächsische Staatskapelle Dresden durch ein deliziöses romantisches Programm. Richard Strauss war der Staatskapelle mehr als sechzig Jahre lang freundschaftlich verbunden, bei seinen Tondichtungen sind die Musiker ebenso in ihrem Element wie bei Brahms’ Vierter Sinfonie, der Krönung seines sinfonischen Schaffens.

Marie Jacquot is one of the most exciting conductors of the new generation. The young Frenchwoman, originally a trombonist, also had what it takes to be a tennis professional, but decided to take the conductor's baton and swapped the French Open for the world's great orchestras and concert halls, which she is currently taking by storm. In Cologne she navigates the traditional Saxon Staatskapelle Dresden through a delicious, romantic program. Richard Strauss was friendly with the Staatskapelle for more than sixty years; the musicians are in their element in his tone poems as well as in Brahms' Fourth Symphony, the crowning achievement of his symphonic work.
