In 1853, Johannes Brahms showed up at the home of Clara and Robert Schumann to show them some of his early compositions. From then on, all three maintained an intense relationship, both personally and artistically, which is fundamental to understanding German musical Romanticism. That same year, Clara Schumann composed the Three Romances for violin and piano, op. 22 ,which he dedicated to the Austro-Hungarian violinist Joseph Joachim. Clara had a special predilection for the romance genre, which allowed her to unfold melodies with a strong sentimental character. In the first romance, he incorporates some elements specific to gypsy music, just as Brahms also does in the last movement of the Piano Quartet in G G, op. 25. This quartet and the Piano Quartet in Eb, op. 47 by Robert Schumann are structured in four movements and combine melodies of great lyricism and rhythmically energetic passages.

El 1853, Johannes Brahms va presentar-se a casa de Clara i Robert Schumann per ensenyar-los algunes de les seves primeres composicions. A partir de llavors, tots tres van mantenir una relació intensa, tant en l’àmbit personal com en l’artístic, que resulta fonamental per entendre el Romanticisme musical alemany. Aquell mateix any, Clara Schumann va compondre les Tres romances per a violí i piano, op. 22, que va dedicar al violinista austrohongarès Joseph Joachim. Clara tenia especial predilecció pel gènere de la romança, que li permetia desplegar melodies amb un fort caràcter sentimental. A la primera romança, hi incorpora alguns elements propis de la música zíngara, tal com també fa Brahms a l’últim moviment del Quartet amb piano en sol m, op. 25. Aquest quartet i el Quartet amb piano en Mi b, op. 47 de Robert Schumann s’estructuren en quatre moviments i combinen melodies d’un gran lirisme i passatges rítmicament enèrgics.
