Moses thrills the Festival Opera audience with his stunning performance as Escamillo the bullfighter in the production of Carmen, Hawke's Bay, New Zealand in 2017. Moses returns to the Festival Opera stage to honour his mentor and inspiration Dame Malvina Major in 'Sharing the Dream' - a gala concert at Toitoi Opera House, Hastings. 23 October 2022, 5pm.

Join us for a gala concert of operatic highlights celebrating the unique career and work of Dame Malvina. A sparkling evening, featuring some of Aotearoa’s finest opera singers including Moses Mackay of Sol3 Mio fame, joined by Hawke's Bay's own sopranos Anna and Madeleine Pierard; the four fabulous Fonoti-Fuimono brothers, and dazzling up-and-coming talent Katherine Winitana; all of whom have been mentored and supported by Dame Malvina and her Foundation.

We'll explore the highlights of Dame Malvina’s journey - from her early days studying and performing in Europe through to her dazzling International success following a period in New Zealand raising her family. This will be an evening of opera classics, with full symphonic accompaniment rarely seen in Hawke's Bay
