With his unique timbre and a supple and agile voice, Philippe Jaroussky is the most essential countertenor of his generation. His perfect technical mastery allows him nuances as daring as they are perilous and this in the most diverse repertoires. Because he has long been a musician curious to experiment with new horizons. If his favorite field remains early music, we have also heard it in the French melody, Schubert, with the very contemporary Finnish composer Kaija Saariaho and even in Le telephone pleureby Claude François (at the invitation of his accomplice Jean-Christophe Spinosi). For this new recital, he invites us to discover some forgotten pearls and refrains of early French music such as these pages of Boësset, Mouliné, Lambert, still too little-known composers of the 17th century. And to conclude the evening, a return to Italian sources before Purcell's jewel, Music for a while.
