We are very excited to welcome back Steven Osborne, another festival regular, for his third appearance with the Festival Orchestra, this time to perform Ravel’s effervescent and ‘blues’ tinted Piano Concerto in G major, which surely contains one of the most soulful slow movements ever written. 

We couldn’t resist programming another Ravel wonder, his Mother Goose suite, a masterpiece of musical imagery, colour and orchestration, and to complete a trio 20th Century works we will present a selection of pieces drawn from all three of Prokofiev’s ever popular Romeo and Juliet suite
