Rudolf Friml was the most famous "American Czech" in the first thirty years of the 20th century. The son of a baker, but above all a great pianist and composer, he settled in America in 1906, which he successfully conquered in a short time. He permanently entered the history of the "American operetta" genre, and works such as The Firefly, Rose Marie, and The Tramp King became not only period hits. Among the most famous operetta romances with which Friml "conquered" New York was the operetta (or rather one of the first musicals?) The Three Musketeers based on the famous novel by Alexandre Dumas, which was performed for the first time in 1928. Based on the reconstruction of the sheet music, which has survived only in torsos, Friml's The Three Musketeers is presented at the Jiří Myron Theater eighty years after its premiere.
