CHAMBER CONCERT SERIES “YOUNG STARS OF THE ESTONIAN NATIONAL OPERA”

Chamber music tradition, born in the courts and salons, gives the audience an opportunity to listen to music in a more intimate environment and creates a special bond between the listeners and musicians. 117th season introduces a series of chamber concerts of beautiful music performed by the young musicians of the theatre.

TO THE DISTANT BELOVED

On April 26, 2023 in the Chamber Hall of the Estonian National Opera
A lot of beautiful music has been inspired by love and heartbreak. This evening, a musical story about intense love, hopes and disappointments, breath-taking happiness and sweet burn evolves in front of you. The heart of the story is a compilation of Beethoven’s song cycle “To the distant beloved” with Robert Schumann’s “A poet’s love”, Clara Schumann’s and Franz Schubert’s songs. Every song and piece will find a place in this semi-staged concert and take the listener deep into the world of feelings. The music is performed by Karis Trass (mezzo-soprano), Mehis Tiits (tenor), Priit Volmer (bass) and Jaanika Rand-Sirp (piano). Idea: Jaanika Rand-Sirp.

Õukondades ja salongides sündinud kammermuusika traditsioon pakub võimaluse kuulata muusikat intiimsemas keskkonnas ning loob muusikute ja publiku vahele erilise sideme. 117. hooajal alustab tunniajaste kammerkontsertide sari, kus kõlab kaunis muusika teatri noorte interpreetide esituses.

Maailmas on loodud palju kaunist muusikat armastuse ja südamevalu ainetel. Sel kevadõhtul rullub teie ees lahti muusikaline lugu sügavast armastusest, lootustest ja pettumustest, hingematvast õnnest ja magusast valust. Loo selgroo moodustab põimik Beethoveni laulutsüklist „Kaugele armastatule“, Robert Schumanni „Poeedi armastusest“ ning Clara Schumanni ja Franz Schuberti lauludest. Kergelt lavastatuna leiab iga laul ja pala oma koha selles pildis ning viib kuulaja rännakule tunnete maailma. Esinevad Karis Trass (metsosopran), Mehis Tiits (tenor), Priit Volmer (bass) ning Jaanika Rand-Sirp (klaver). Idee ja teostus: Jaanika Rand-Sirp.
