What don't you do for a job? Michael Dorsey is an actor, not a simple character, no longer the very youngest - and therefore has not been seen on a New York stage for a long time. But that's just where the problems begin, because there's also his neurotic on-off girlfriend Sandy, the chauvinistic director Ron, the bullshit reality star Max, the attractive colleague Julie ... and last but not least the new alter ego: Dorothy Michaels ! Since 1982, Sydney Pollack's wonderfully funny travesty comedy »Tootsie« (= »Schnuckelchen«) has been enchanting about the absurdities of show business, dealing with gender roles and a man who only becomes a better guy as a woman - on the screen and on the screens.
