A captivating opera by an important Slovak composer, who began the creative stage of setting music to great themes of world literature. Ján Cikker wrote his own libretto based on Lev Nikolajevič Tolstý's novel of the same name, compacted the model, released a number of supporting figures and focused on the excellent characteristics of the main characters.
