A popular fairy tale Mrazík in a musical garb

Domýšlivý Ivánek and tender Nastěnka, evil stepmother and spoiled Marfuša, wise grandfather Hříbeček, unpredictable Baba Jaga and dignified grandfather Mrazík. These are the main characters of the Russian fairy tale, which had a low response at the place of origin, but has long been domesticated in the Czech Republic. Christmas time is not without it and some passages are familiar to the audience. Her fabulously romantic atmosphere is perfectly complemented by the baby drummer Jaga, the unforgettable František Filipovský. Now Mrazík is starting from the television screen on the stage of the Silesian Theater. In the premiere, visitors will see it on Sunday, December 14 from 7 pm on the stage of Martin Víšek, performed by opera soloists and guests from the play in costumes by Eliška Zapletalová. The film fairy tale Mrazík was made more than four decades ago by Russian film director Alexander Rou and the music was created by Nikolai Budashkin. In the theatrical version, they added new musical numbers Boris Urbánek (music) and Jiří Sedláček (lyrics). Eduard Izotov twisted Ivánek's film and Dušan Růžička and Roman Harok will be in Opava. Natalja Jevgenievna Sedych and Tereza Kavecká from Olga Bezačinská gave the film a film. Marfuša is in the film Inna Čurikovová, in the Silesian Theater Ilona Kaplová with Simona Mrázová. Director Dagmar Hlubková chose Martin Táborský and Evžen Trupar as Mrazík, Baba Jagu will be represented by Zdeněk Kapl and Pavel Michal Vojta, Grandfather Hříbeček will be played by Petr Miller and Libor Olma. The stepmother will be Katarína Jorda Kramolišová and Ivana Lebedová, Daniel Wariš will become the married groom of Marfuš and his mother will be Marta Vaňkátová. The musical Mrazík will probably be a visitor's hit

It looks like the fresh premiere of the musical Mrazík will become a visitor's hit. The familiar film fairy tale, which came to life on the stage of the Silesian Theater under the direction of Dagmar Hlubková, is the easy-footed piece that has a chance to attract small and large audiences, preferably the whole family. There is certainly no need to remind anyone of the story of the good and hardworking Nastěnka and grandfather Mrazík. It has been one of the film attributes of the Christmas holidays of most Czech households for many years. And the director D. Hlubková tried to definitely keep the fast-paced film trend. So stage technicians also have a big share in the success of the production this time. Almost none of the legendary characters and scenes are missing in the production full of story and songs. Whether it's Hříbeček's grandfather, Ivan's bear's head, a cottage on a chicken leg, a robber and their clubs or a blossoming dry stump… choir and of course all soloists. Many of them demonstrated great abilities for parody and grotesque. Viewers can rightly look forward to Tereza Kavecká's Board, alternated by Olga Bezačinská, Ivánka by Dušan Růžička or Roman Harok, Marfuša by Ilona Kaplová or Simona Mrázová, Baba Jagu by Michal Pavel Vojta or Zdeněk Kapl. Mrazík is played alternately by Evžen Trupar and Martin Táborský. An important mover of the story this time is the narrator, who was excellently portrayed by Zdeňka Mervová, alternated by Ivana Lebedová. We could continue the list of colorful and grotesque characters, there are a number of them, mostly well cast and rendered. Of course, we cannot miss the performance of the theater orchestra under the baton of Tomáš Hanák. The scene - Martin Víšek, seems a bit inconsistent, but Eliška Zapletalová's costumes meet most expectations. Let's just remind that the original film music was added by the creators of the musical, Ostrava musician Boris Urbánek and actor Jiří Sedláček (lyrics), a number of new musical numbers. Those who expected higher goals or directorial innovations from the new production were apparently disappointed to leave Mrazík's premiere. However, the fans of the film Mrazík definitely got their money's worth and saw most of the replicas and gags that have almost become popular in our country over the years.

Opava's Mamzelle Nitouche uses apt irony and exaggeration to modernize the operetta

On Sunday, October 13, the Silesian Theater in Opava premiered the popular operetta from the environment of the monastery, barracks and the Mamzelle Nitouche theater. The composer is Florimond Ronger, known by the pseudonym Hervé. It was first played in Bohemia in 1890 and was a great success. It all starts in the monastery near Vlaštovičky, where he works as an organist and singing teacher Célestin. However, he leads a double life, under the pseudonym Floridor he is the author of an operetta, which will soon premiere. One of Denis's convents is to marry Lieutenant Fernando de Champlatreux , but they have never seen each other before. She is to be accompanied on the train to Paris by the organist Célestin. Denisa reveals that the organist is the author of the operetta and wants to attend the premiere. There he meets his fiancé and introduces himself to him as Mamzelle Nitouche. Neither has any idea that they are engaged. Denisa eventually saves the premiere when one of the actresses Corinna surprises and experiences great success. The train to Denise and Célestin leaves for Paris and returns to the monastery. There, the lieutenant comes to apologize for falling in love with another, unaware that Denisa is in fact Mamzelle Nitouche. Director Dominika Beneš managed to incorporate a number of humorous messages into the operetta, which gave it a modern touch and prove that this genre can be modern even in the 21st century. Stage designer David Janošek once again used his creativity and the audience will certainly be engraved in the memory of the birdhouses on the monastery wall. The conductor Josef Štefan took care of the musical side and pleasant melodies. It is necessary to highlight the performance of the orchestra of the Silesian Theater in Opava. For example, the clarinet, cello and a number of brass instruments were given more space in the operetta, and the overall interplay was really excellent. The pearl of the whole production was Barbora Čechová in the role of Denisa, who literally shone on stage and surpassed the others in her singing performance. Katarína Jorda in the role of prima donna Corrina with her French accent and quarreling with her acting colleague Sidonia, played by Zdenka Mervová, bent the defenders of many spectators. A great move was also the casting of Zdeněk Kapl in the role of the mother of the monastery , whose sentence "she is an angel" will certainly not be forgotten by the audience. The same can be said about Michal Stalmach, who, in the role of a drunken officer, Loriot, did not spare humorous messages. Everything was beautifully illustrated by the colorful costumes of Zuzana Přidalová, which really fit into the production. During the performance, the actors also came up with a few ironic remarks about the air conditioning of the theater or the actress Kamila Srubková, who received the audience award from Opava Thalia before the performance. It is a truly creative operetta that makes every viewer laugh and clearly shows that even in this genre, various embarrassing moments and clichés can be avoided.

THE ANTICIPATED MUSICAL FUNNY GIRL IS ACCOMPANIED BY EMBARRASSMENT

Opava- The musical, which is another variation on Pygmalion, managed to reach the Opava scene with several premiere attempts. It is the story of a simple girl at first, obsessed with theater and eager to establish herself, who, with the strength of will and courage to experiment, developed from scratch into an artistically famous wonder from the beginning of the last century. The nearly three-and-a-half-hour story of whether it was possible to combine artistic advancement with privacy called for cuts. With one break, it is really a bit tiring for the spectators, moreover it is not very moving and thus a bit static. Shortening the story by at least half an hour would certainly benefit him a lot. However, the performers are not to blame. It tries to prepare the audience for a pleasant stay in the auditorium. Soprano Tereza Kavecká in the title character Fanny practically did not come off the stage and her performance deserves an award. The protagonist, The heroine's great motivation was also the love for the gambler Nick, who was portrayed by the guest Ostrava soloist Roman Harok at the premiere. He introduced the audience to a salon-type man, resisting commitments, who finally succumbed to Fanny's intense emotion and married her. However, he began to suffocate him and after a bad investment, in which he lost all his and Fanna's money, he started to cheat. He ended up in prison, where he realized that their next journey together was no longer possible and chose divorce. Soprano Katarína Jorda once again confirmed her acting skills as Fanna's mother. She credibly leads her from a hopeful mother, through a mother proud of her daughter's success, to a woman frustrated by her child's emotional collapse. Another important man on Fanna's artistic career was the choreographer Eddie, also performed by the guest Lukáš Randák, who admires and protects his charges from show business magnates and from herself. Lenka Liberdová brings a cute element to the story as the friend of Fanna's mother, Mrs. Strakoschová, obsessed with the girls' marriages. In a similar vein, a plethora of other performers also appeared at the premiere. The musical Funny Girl will not be lost by the audience, but they will hardly want to see him again.
