The Scharoun Theater Wolfsburg is almost exclusively a theater for guest performances. There are about two in-house productions per year, including a Christmas tale. The theater offers drama, musical theater, contemporary dance and ballet performances as well as opera, symphony concerts and scenic readings. The Young Theater is aimed at children and young people of all ages and school classes. In addition to the main stage, the backstage in the theater building and the "Hallenbad - Kultur am Schachtweg" in the city center serve as venues. Every year at the beginning of March, the "Drehbühnenball" (a ball on the rotating stage), which has become famous beyond the city limits, takes place in the foyer, stage and backstage. In summer, the theater is closed and opens the new season in September.
