Jochen Heibertshausen I was born on 16.08.1967 in Gießen, Germany. My musical education led me to the Cologne University of Music and to the University of Music in Karlsruhe, where I graduated in double bass studies withdiploma from Prof. Wolfgang Güttler. I was already very concerned with conducting during my studies. Defining was the study of the work of Wilhelm Furtwängler. His musical views were basically the foundation for building my own conducting in the desire of being able to illustrate musical characters more precisely to the audience. The most important stages of my education include various conducting courses such as a course at the German Music Council, the Florence conducting masterclass with Riccardo Frizza (2020) and at the Land Association of Orchestras in Baden Württem
