Evgeny Khokhlov

Artistic Director and Principal Conductor of the Samara Academic Opera and Ballet Theatre, Evgeny Khokhlov is the first prize winner of the VII Luigi Mancinelli International competition of opera conductors in Orvieto, Italy (2016), and the first prize winner and a laureate of the special prize from the Gerhart Hauptmann-Theater Görlitz-Zittau, Germany. He graduated with distinction from the Saint Petersburg State Conservatory, where he studied choral conducting under Professor and Honored Artist of Russia Elizaveta Kudryavtseva (the first female choral conductor in the USSR) and opera and symphony conducting under the Honored Artist of Russia Dmitry Khokhlov (Artistic Director and Principal Conductor of the State Academic Andreyev Russian Orchestra).
