Leticia de Altamirano

Mexican American soprano, Leticia de Altamirano was recognized by CONACULTA (National Council for Culture and the Arts) as “Voice of the Mexican Bicentennial” in 2010. She is currently one of the most important opera singers in the country. Leticia recently made an outstanding tour in France singing the main role in Ginastera´s opera Beatrix Cenci in Strasbourg and Mulhouse with the Opéra National du Rhin, conducted by Marko Letonjia. It was the premiere in France of this opera and it won “best lyrical performance” of the year. She was also widely lauded as Lucia in Donizetti’s thrilling Lucia di Lammermoor in Manaus, Brazil and very recently in Montevideo, Uruguay as Gilda in one of Verdi’s classic operas, Rigoletto.
