Born in Montevideo, Uruguay, Amiram Ganz started his solo career at age eleven, after placing first in a national violin performance competition. He later studied at the Moscow Tchaikovsky Conservatory, where he met Alexander Paley. Mr. Ganz and Mr. Paley have performed together all over the world, interpreting the primary repertoire of violin and piano sonatas by composers including Bach, Mozart, Beethoven, Bartók, Prokoﬁev, and Shostakovich.

Amiram Ganz’s honors in international competitions include the Long-Thibaud-Crespin in Paris and the ARD in Munich. He has served as first concert-master of Strasbourg Philharmonic Orchestra. His discography includes Paganini: Sonatas for Violin and Guitar, with guitarist Maria Isabel Siewers; Máximo Diego Pujol: Guitar and Chamber Music, also with Ms. Siewers; and George Enesco: Impressions D’Enfance, Sonata “Torso,” and Three Sonatas, with Alexander Paley.

Mr. Ganz co-founded the Altenberg Trio of Vienna, and continues to perform with them at U.S. venues including The Library of Congress, Dumbarton Oaks, Frick Gallery, Harvard Chamber Music Society, and internationally at venues including Wigmore Hall, London, Concertgebouw, Amsterdam, at the annual Musikverein Festival, Vienna, and in Moscow and St. Petersburg. Mr. Ganz is professor emeritus of violin and chamber music at The Music and Arts University of the City of Vienna. He continues to conduct master classes all over the world.

Mr. Ganz plays a violin made in 1690 by Goﬀredo Cappa of Saluzzo, Italy.
