Conductor Daniel Smith was most popular during the performance. Not only did he participate in the auction but he led Orchestra Victoria and the Opera Australia Chorus to the end of the trip. The concertato finale of Act 2 featuring fourteen individual lines was thrilling! A true crowd pleaser!

Orchestra Victoria delivered Rossini’s sophisticated score with great style, thanks to the superb direction of Daniel Smith (making a well overdue debut in his native Australia).
