OPERA HUNTER was established in 1984 and is dedicated to presenting innovative and high quality performances of opera and music theatre to the region. It is proud of its position in the creative and artistic life of the Hunter, and determined to continue as a flagship company into the future.

Amongst its repertoire the company has presented The Magic Flute, Don Giovanni, Carmen, The Medium, Julius Caesar, Oliver, Madama Butterfly, West Side Story, Cats, The Sound of Music, She Loves Me, Fiddler on the Roof, Miss Saigon, Young Frankenstein, Trial by Jury, Cavalleria Rusticana, The Merry Wives of Windsor, Yeomen of the Guard, Pirates of Penzance.
