Impressed by the great tone poems of Richard Strauss, Anton Webern's Im Sommerwind as a thesis for his music studies in Vienna. The work, composed in the late romantic style, was inspired by the poem of the same name by Bruno Wille and already gives an idea of ​​the great mastery of the composer.

Richard Strauss, in his old age, called his concerto for oboe and small orchestra a “workshop and wrist exercise”. The burlesque and "Mozarian" concert will be presented by Celine Moinet, solo oboist of the Saxon Staatskapelle Dresden.

Richard Strauss was also an avid mountain hiker and walker. From his house in Garmisch he had a magnificent view of the Bavarian Alps. As a 15-year-old he once got lost on his mountain adventures and had to experience an impressive thunderstorm up close – the next day he was already fantasizing about it on the piano. In his alpine symphony , which he wrote in 100 days, there is everything that fascinates mountaineers: waterfalls, pastures with cows, dangerous glaciers, marmots, thunderstorms and storms and of course the happy and satisfying feeling on the summit.

Unter dem Eindruck der großen Tondichtungen eines Richard Strauss entstand 1904 Anton Weberns Im Sommerwind als Abschlussarbeit zu seinem Musikstudium in Wien. Das im spätromantischen Stil komponierte Werk wurde durch das gleichnamige Gedicht von Bruno Wille inspiriert und lässt die große Meisterschaft des Komponisten bereits erahnen.

Eine „Werkstattarbeit und Handgelenksübung“, nannte der altersweise Richard Strauss sein Konzert für Oboe und kleines Orchester. Das burleske und „mozärtliche“ Konzert wird präsentiert von Celine Moinet, Solo-Oboistin der Sächsischen Staatskapelle Dresden.

Richard Strauss war auch ein begeisterter Bergwanderer und Spaziergänger. Von seinem Haus in Garmisch hatte er einen grandiosen Blick auf die bayerischen Alpen. Als 15-Jähriger hat er sich einmal bei seinen Bergabenteuern verstiegen...
