The ingenious creation of Mikhail Glinka brought the composer fame as the founder of Russian opera and opened the "Russian period" in world musical art.

On the stage of the Chelyabinsk theater - a large-scale production with unexpected directorial moves, impressive scenery and costumes. The outfits of the boyars, the clergy, the tsar and his retinue are made according to old patterns, taking into account the cut of the clothes of the 17th century. The costumes were decorated by hand with embroidery, embossing, lace, icons, stones, pearls and beads.

More than a hundred artists are involved in the performance: opera soloists, choir, ballet, mimams. And the final scene is so grandiose that two conductors work with the orchestra at once.
