Take an Italian opera buffa, add new ingredients and season it all in French with a pinch of coquetry and an elegant touch. Et voilà: A musical comedy at its finest is ready. This is what happened in Paris in 1828, when Rossini composed his penultimate stage work, Le comte Ory, using the opera Il viaggio a Reims, written for a royal coronation. The result is a brilliant comedy about the amorous adventures of Count Ory. Thunderstorm music, drinking bouts and a “failed” love trio included.

So entstand eine brillante Komödie rund um die amourösen Abenteuer des Grafen Ory. Gewittermusik, Trinkgelage und ein „verunglücktes“ Liebesterzett inklusive.
