A seize ans, Grigory Sokolov remportait le Concours Tchaïkovski de Moscou. Prodige ? Que dire alors de sa protégée Alexandra Dovgan qui, au même âge, a dépassé le stade des compétitions musicales depuis « longtemps » ! La jeune Russe nous revient avec Bach, et deux compatriotes. Après l’ultime partita d’un recueil qui, selon Forkel, premier biographe du Cantor, « fit en son temps beaucoup de bruit dans le monde musical [tant] on n’avait encore jamais vu ni entendu d’aussi excellentes compositions pour clavier », la virtuose s’attaquera aux variations que Rachmaninov élaborait en 1931 sur un thème attribué à Corelli. La matinée prendra fin avec une plongée dans le monde de Scriabine, dont la Sonate-Fantaisie opus 19 nous emmène voir la mer.
