Créé à Stuttgart au Neues Königliches Hoftheater le 25 octobre 1912. En partenariat avec la Librairie Mollat

Opéra dans l’opéra, Ariane à Naxos dévoile au public ce qu’il n’a pas l’habitude de voir.
L’opéra est une invitation à la réflexion sur la création artistique naviguant sans cesse entre tragédie, comédie et satire politique.
Véritable singularité dans la littérature musicale du début du XXe siècle, c’est également une œuvre à part dans la création de Strauss, usant d’un discours contrasté, alternant le grave et le léger, magnifiant les splendeurs orchestrales fourmillantes d’inventivité et célébrant trois rôles féminins éblouissants. Opera within opera, Ariane à Naxos reveals to the public what they are not used to seeing.
The opera is an invitation to reflect on artistic creation, constantly navigating between tragedy, comedy and political satire.
A true singularity in the musical literature of the early 20th century, it is also a work apart in the creation of Strauss, using a contrasting discourse, alternating the low and the light, magnifying the orchestral splendors teeming with inventiveness and celebrating three dazzling female roles.
