Η δεύτερη συναυλία της ΚΟΘ στο πλαίσιο του Έτους Μπετόβεν είναι μια γιορτή της ελευθερίας, ενόψει και της επικείμενης εθνικής επετείου. Ο μεγάλος συνθέτης είδε στον κόμη Έγκμοντ του Γκαίτε τον ίδιο του τον εαυτό και μέσω αυτού υμνεί το υπέρτατο αγαθό της ελευθερίας, ενώ συνέθεσε τη συναρπαστική 7η Συμφωνία από αγνό πατριωτισμό, σύμφωνα με τα λεγόμενά του, προς τιμήν των στρατιωτών που τραυματίστηκαν στη Μάχη του Χανάου. Το πρόγραμμα ολοκληρώνει μία σπάνια άρια με τη φωνή της Ana Maria Labin και η Μικρή σουίτα για ορχήστρα εγχόρδων του Σκαλκώτα.

The second concert of the Thessaloniki Concert Hall in the Beethoven Year is a festival of freedom, in the runup to the Greek national day. The great composer saw himself in Goethe’s Count Egmond and, through him, the highest good of freedom. He composed his stunning Seventh Symphony from pure patriotism, according to his own words, in honour of the soldiers who had been wounded in the Battle of Hanau. The programme also includes a rare aria sung by Ana Maria Labin and the Little suite for strings by Skalkottas.
