The 78th edition of the Prague Spring will culminate with the performance of Symphony No. 9 with "Ode to Joy" by Ludwig van Beethoven, a work traditionally associated with the end of the festival. The festive program, in which the Czech Philharmonic, the Prague Philharmonic Choir and four top soloists will be led by the German conductor Christoph Eschenbach, will bring together Beethoven's music with Johannes Brahms' Song of Fate and the masterful Atmosphères of Gÿorgy Ligeti, one of the most important composers of the 20th century, whose birth will pass in the spring 100 years. "The human spirit and its desire to discover, to search for light and joy - this is how the program of the final concert could be characterized, in which Christoph Eschenbach connects three seemingly disparate works," describes the Prague Spring dramaturg Josef Třeštík.

78. ročník Pražského jara vyvrcholí uvedením Symfonie č. 9 s „Ódou na radost“ Ludwiga van Beethovena, díla tradičně spjatého se závěrem festivalu. Slavnostní program, na kterém Českou filharmonii, Pražský filharmonický sbor a čtveřici špičkových sólistů povede německý dirigent Christoph Eschenbach, přinese spojení Beethovenovy hudby s Písní osudu Johannese Brahmse a mistrovskými Atmosphères Gÿorgyho Ligetiho, jednoho z nejvýznamnějších skladatelů 20. století, od jehož narození na jaře uplyne 100. let. „Lidský duch a jeho touha objevovat, hledat světlo a radost – tak by šlo charakterizovat program závěrečného koncertu, na němž Christoph Eschenbach propojí tři zdánlivě nesourodá díla,“ charakterizuje koncert dramaturg Pražského jara Josef Třeštík.
