For the magazine »Opera News«, Bejun Mehta is »perhaps the most cultivated and musically most convincing countertenor at the moment«. Mehta was already singing as a soloist under Leonard Bernstein at the age of ten and made his debut in 1998 as Handel's Partenope with the New York City Opera. His career has taken him to practically all the important houses and to festivals such as the Salzburg Festival. His piano partner is the prominent American song accompanist Jonathan Ware. Your program "Many Loves, One Voice" seems made for the motto "Love" of the Hamburg International Music Festival 2023.

It is remarkable that Mehta - in contrast to many of his colleagues - is by no means limited to the baroque repertoire. His concert includes the three Viennese classics Haydn, Mozart and Beethoven; The latter created the first song cycle in music history with »An die ferne Geliebte«. And Mehta goes even further: with Benjamin Britten, a composer of the 20th century is also part of the programme.

Mehta sang bereits im Alter von zehn Jahren als Solist unter Leonard Bernstein und gab sein Debüt 1998 als Händels Partenope an der New York City Opera.
