Who was the mentor of one of the greatest conductors of our time? Riccardo Muti, who will turn 83 in the summer of 2024, received decisive support at a young age from his composition teacher, Nino Rota, the legendary composer of Fellini, Visconti and Zeffirelli's films. His current orchestra, the Chicago Symphony Orchestra, conducts an exciting program at the Müpa: the evening's program features a new work by Philip Glass representing a popular branch of contemporary music, while a piece each by Mendelssohn and Richard Strauss represents the chapter of German music that conquers with its Italian colors and temperament.

The Chicago Symphony Orchestra has been operating since 1891, and its chief music directors include musicians such as Rafael Kubelík, Reiner Frigyes, György Solti, Daniel Barenboim, and Bernard Haitink. (The orchestra's two performances at the newly opened Müpa in 2005, conducted by Pierre Boulez and Daniel Barenboim, are unforgettable.) Riccardo Muti has been at the helm of the Chicagoans since 2010. One of the most significant chapters of the versatile conductor's career was connected to Milan's Scala, but he maintains an equally fruitful relationship with E with the biggest bands of Europe and America from Berlin to Vienna, from Philadelphia to New York. Philip Glass at 20-21. one of the most successful creative individuals of 20th-century American music, who composed works of great interest in all genres, from solo piano works to operas, within the repetitive-minimalist trend. The title of his work that is being played now is The Triumph of the Octagon. The composer was inspired by Castel del Monte in the Puglia region of southern Italy, not far from the city of Andria: II. The 13th-century castle of the German-Roman emperor Frederick, whose architecture is full of magical symbols, in the spirit of the number eight. Mendelssohn and Richard Strauss represent the German music of two different eras, but their works that are playing now have a common feature that they are both Italian symphonies,
