Interview mit Miron Hakenbeck zu «Das Rheingold»

Sounds of pure nature form the prelude to the greatest work of musical theater in the 19th century: Richard Wagner's tetralogy The Ring of the Nibelung . But the fall of man waits in the resounding primeval depths of the Rhine. Dwarf Alberich renounces love, steals the gold from the daughters of the Rhine and forges it into a ring of infinite power. When the gods Wotan wrested ring and gold from Alberich, an unstoppable wave of intriguing entanglements begins, in which love, jealousy, power and violence increase into a cosmos of the world tale of its own.

Wagner's magnum opus is now also being forged at the Bern Opera!

The young Polish director and FAUST prize-winner Ewelina Marciniak, who dares to venture into the opera for the first time here in Bern, will stage the production. Nicholas Carter is at the podium - he is conducting Wagner's Ring des Nibelungen for the first time .
