In the program of the gala of the music theater, two cultures meet that have enriched and challenged each other in the course of European music history of the 19th and 20th centuries: Ludwig van Beethoven, Richard Wagner and Richard Strauss meet Alexander Borodin, Peter Iljitsch Tschaikowsky and Sergei Rachmaninov. Just like the title, blown over from Richard Dehmel's poem »Liberated«, the program heralds a departure, the desire for liberation, redemption and forgiveness, the longing for love and light and, last but not least, for normality in people's togetherness.
For two years we have been lagging behind our musical theater dreams, for two years we have been meeting inspiring singers, with the Medeas, Lohengrins and Elsas, the Telramunds, Rosalindes and Cardillacs. Again and again we have to unload and console them, time and again they have to acknowledge that they are still not allowed to give shape to these great characters of opera literature because their stories are too complex to be told under the given circumstances.

Making necessity a virtue, we invited them to shape this gala evening with us and our audience, to awaken anticipation for what is to come. They tell us about the "morning" when the sun will shine again, about the "distant land" in which a sacred vessel gives supernatural power, or they tell us about the time that flows so differently, depending on the state of our soul ...
