Devon Baroque’s first concert of the year brings you music by the Italian masters, Corelli, Albinoni, Scarlatti, Geminiani, Valentini and Vivaldi and features leading soprano, Rebecca Ramsey.

For many people the great Italian composers (together with Bach and Handel) define the musical sound of the baroque period. In this concert we feature six of the best known composers of the time. The orchestra will be playing three concertos and a sonata, interspersed with two vocal pieces, a cantata by Scarlatti and Vivaldi’s motet, ‘Nulla in mundo pax sincera’.

We are delighted to welcome Rebecca Ramsey to sing with the orchestra. Rebecca has made a her name by specialising in historical performance and singing with orchestras such as the Armonico Consort and the English Baroque Soloists under John Eliot Gardiner. She records for Hyperion Records.
