Sylwester z Operą Śląską - Zemsta nietoperza | Zaprasza dyrektor Łukasz Goik

The premiere of the operetta "The Bat's Revenge" took place on April 5, 1874 at the Theater an der Wien in Vienna. The libretto is written by Karl Haffner and Richard Genée, based on the French vaudeville Le Réveillon by Henri Meilhac and Ludovic Halévy.

The action of the operetta takes place in the circle of Viennese salons. The friendly, but reckless financier, Gabriel von Eisenstein, is to be arrested for slapping a tax official. His friend, however, persuades him to have a little distraction earlier and attend the ball. However, this is not an attempt to cheer Gabriel, but part of a plot to be revenge for leaving him drunk after a party once and forcing him to walk through the streets of Vienna ... disguised as a bat. Gabriel will appear incognito at the ball, not knowing that - also incognito - his wife Rozalinda and the maid Adela will be there, and even ... the director of the prison (also in disguise). The masquerade will lead to an avalanche of funny mistakes ...

The witty dialogues, full of an ambiguous play on words, are due to the excellent translation of Julian Tuwim, one of the most popular poets of the interwar period. The comedy of the situation, as in the perfect comedy of errors, is intertwined with the comedy contained in the text, and all this is illustrated by the spontaneous, joyful music of the waltz king

Premiera operetki „Zemsty nietoperza” odbyła się 5 kwietnia 1874 w Theater an der Wien w Wiedniu. Autorami libretta, według francuskiego wodewilu Le Réveillon Henriego Meilhaca i Ludovica Halévyego, są Karl Haffner i Richard Genée.

Akcja operetki rozgrywa się w kręgu wiedeńskich salonów. Sympatyczny, aczkolwiek lekkomyślny finansista Gabriel von Eisenstein, za spoliczkowanie urzędnika skarbowego ma trafić do aresztu. Jego przyjaciel, namawia go jednak, aby wcześniej nieco się rozerwał i wziął udział w balu. Nie jest to jednak próba pocieszenia Gabriela, ale część intrygi, która ma być zemstą za to, iż zostawił go kiedyś upojonego alkoholem po przyjęciu i zmusił do przejścia ulicami Wiednia… w przebraniu nietoperza. Na balu Gabriel pojawi się incognito, nie wiedząc, że – także incognito – będą tam jego żona Rozalinda i pokojówka Adela, a nawet sam…dyrektor więzienia (również w przebraniu). Maskarada doprowadzi do lawiny zabawnych pomyłek…

Dowcipne dialogi, pełne wieloznacznej gry słów, to zasługa wybornego przekładu Juliana Tuwima, jednego z najpopularniejszych poetów dwudziestolecia międzywojennego.  Komizm sytuacji, jak w doskonałej komedii omyłek,  splata się z komizmem zawartym w tekście, a to wszystko ilustruje żywiołowa, radosna muzyka króla walca.
