For the last show of the season, Ben Glassberg conducts Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart's ultimate opera: The Magic Flute .
Written in 1791, at the same time as the Requiem , this Singspiel is inspired by a fairy tale to which Mozart adds Masonic references, both in the initiatory journey of Prince Tamino and in the music.
Among the countless readings of this multifaceted work, the dancer and choreographer Pierre Rigal delves into the relationship between the high priest Sarastro and the Queen of the Night in his staging, rehabilitating this character of a desperate mother in the process. The cast contributes to the enchantment of this score, the success of which has never wavered since its creation.
