After "The Marriage of Figaro", "The Magic Flute" is the second production of the Staro Zagora Opera House from the "Opera in a Suitcase" cycle, which has gained rapid momentum. In the Year of Mozart /in 2016, 260 years have passed since his birth/ the Staro Zagora Opera pays tribute to the Austrian genius with the realization of his brightest opera titles in an accessible and attractive format for all ages. And what is "Opera in a Suitcase"? Within 1 hour and a half, the audience meets selected moments from the cult opera titles and has the opportunity to enjoy the most beautiful musical and vocal fragments without disturbing the musical dramaturgy of the works.

Director Denis Ivanov says:

"The Magic Flute", like any fairy tale, gives space to the imagination. Therefore, I transfer the action to the Orient, to the world of Scheherazade and 1001 Nights, to the fabulous 15th century - the century of princesses and knights, of the man of honor fighting for the "lady of the heart", the time of orysniks and magicians. I'm trying to bring up the topic of the personal choices that everyone makes at an early age. The other main message in the show is related to tolerance between people of different civilizations and religions in the conditions of the globalizing world.

След „Сватбата на Фигаро“, „Вълшебната флейта“ е втората постановка на Старозагорската опера от набралия стремителна скорост цикъл „Опера в куфар“. В Годината на Моцарт /през 2016 г. се навършиха 260 години от рождението му/ Старозагорската опера отдава своята почит към австрийския гений с реализацията на неговите най-ярки оперни заглавия в достъпен и привлекателен формат за всички възрасти. А какво е „Опера в куфар“? В рамките на 1 час и половина зрителите се срещат с избрани моменти от култовите оперни заглавия и имат възможността да се насладят на най-красивите музикални и вокални фрагменти, без да се нарушава музикалната драматургия на творбите.

Режисьорът Денис Иванов казва:

„Вълшебната флейта“, като всяка приказка, дава простор на въображението. Затова пренасям действието в Ориента, в света на Шехерезада и 1001 нощ, в приказния 15-ти век – века на принцесите и рицарите, на мъжа на честта, борещ се за „дамата на сърцето“, времето на орисниците и вълшебниците.В постановката се опитвам да изведа темата за личния избор, който всеки прави в най-ранна възраст. Другото основно послание в спектакъла е свързано с толерантността между хората от различни цивилизации и религии в условията на глобализиращия се свят.“
