Don Giovanni is said to have seduced and left 2065 women, according to the register that his servant Leporello keeps meticulously about his master's art of love. The time is therefore more than ripe to present the insatiable with the receipt. Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart does this for all dishonored women in this world, because in his DON GIOVANNI the eponymous hero bites his teeth out of the fair femininity - and that means the beginning of the end of the most famous womanizer of all times ...
With murder and vows of revenge on the one hand and nocturnal clothes swapping and irrepressible gluttony on the other, Mozart skilfully blends tragic and comic moments. It is precisely this mixture that creates the special fascination that makes DON GIOVANNI - despite his 220 years - an absolute highlight of the operatic repertoire.

2065 Frauen soll Don Giovanni verführt und verlassen haben, so besagt es das Register, das sein Diener Leporello peinlichst genau über die Liebeskünste seines Herrn führt. Die Zeit ist also mehr als reif, dem Unersättlichen dafür die Quittung zu präsentieren. Für alle entehrten Frauen dieser Welt tut dies Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, denn in seinem DON GIOVANNI beißt sich der Titelheld die Zähne an der holden Weiblichkeit aus  und das bedeutet den Anfang vom Ende des berühmtesten Frauenhelden aller Zeiten 
Mit Mord und Racheschwüren einerseits und nächtlichem Kleidertausch und unbändiger Fresslust andererseits lässt Mozart tragische und komische Momente geschickt ineinander fließen. Gerade durch diese Mischung entsteht die besondere Faszination, die DON GIOVANNI  trotz seiner 220 Jahre  zu einem absoluten Highlight des Opernrepertoires macht.
