New collaboration between Mozart and his librettist Da Ponte, after the success of The Marriage of Figaro , Don Giovanni reaches a rare perfection in the mixture of tragedy and lightness. Twists and turns, misunderstandings, disguises and incredible energy rub shoulders with the greatest darkness and the most ardent cynicism. Destabilizing certainties, Mozart gives us a
shadowy, breathless, extreme score, given alternately with The Marriage of Figaro , both directed by Laurent Laffargue.
