Intelligence et sensibilité sont au rendez-vous des interprétations de Christian Tetzlaff dont on salue le retour dans nos concerts. Il est aussi un des rares artistes capable d’avoir sa propre conception d’une œuvre et du Concerto pour violon en ré majeur de Beethoven en particulier, dont il a réalisé un enregistrement sauvage, frémissant et très personnel. Il sera intéressant de confronter au cours de notre saison deux conceptions différentes de la Symphonie 'Héroïque' de Beethoven entre l’approche chambriste de l’OCL et la version symphonique proposée ici par l’OSR, sous la direction de Daniele Gatti qui avoue privilégier le côté tendre et humaniste de Beethoven. C’est bien l’impression qu’il avait laissée en 2023 en dirigeant la Symphonie 'Pastorale'. Le chef italien a par ailleurs présenté plusieurs fois le cycle Beethoven complet en concert.

Christian Tetzlaff brings both intelligence and sensitivity to the stage, and we’re thrilled to welcome him back to our concerts. Not only does he interpret pieces brilliantly, he also has a knack for infusing his own unique perspective into works. For instance, his recording of Beethoven’s Violin Concert in D Major delivers a spirited, quivering, and deeply personal take on this classic. It will be fascinating to compare two different renditions of Beethoven’s 'Eroica' Symphony – one with the chamber-like finesse of the OCL and the other, a more symphonic interpretation by the OSR, under Daniele Gatti, who openly leans towards Beethoven’s softer, more compassionate side. This sentiment was evident in 2023 when he conducted the 'Pastoral' Symphony. The Italian maestro has also treated audiences to the complete Beethoven cycle in concert multiple times.
