The Latvian Elīna Garanča is a star in the opera sky. She has been an exclusive artist for Deutsche Grammophon Gesellschaft since 2005 and has already won 4 ECHO Klassik awards. She has received several awards as "Singer of the Year" and was one of the youngest artists to be awarded the title of "Kammersängerin" by the Vienna State Opera. Recent career highlights include critically acclaimed role debuts in new productions such as Princess Eboli in Don Carlos in Paris and Dalila in Samson et Dalila at the Vienna State Opera and the Metropolitan Opera. Most recently she sang works by Mahler and Wagner at the Salzburg Festival. On her multifaceted album "Sol y Vida" (Sun and Life) she celebrates summer and love, she devotes herself to the special sensuality and aura of this time of year and, in addition to well-known opera arias, the acclaimed singer interprets various songs. Die Lettin Elīna Garanča ist ein Star am Opernhimmel. Sie ist seit 2005 Exklusivkünstlerin der Deutschen Grammophon Gesellschaft und hat bereits 4 ECHO Klassik-Auszeichnungen gewonnen. Sie wurde mehrfach als „Sängerin des Jahres“ ausgezeichnet und bekam als eine der jüngsten Künstlerinnen von der Wiener Staatsoper den Titel einer „Kammersängerin“ verliehen. Zu den aktuellen Höhepunkten ihrer Karriere zählen von den Kritikern gefeierte Rollendebüts in Neuproduktionen wie die Prinzessin Eboli in „Don Carlos“ in Paris und Dalila in „Samson et Dalila“ an der Wiener Staatsoper und der Metropolitan Opera. Zuletzt sang sie bei den Salzburger Festspielen Werke von Mahler und Wagner. Auf ihrem facettenreichen Album „Sol y Vida“ (Sonne und Leben) feiert sie den Sommer und die Liebe, sie widmet sich der besonderen Sinnlichkeit und Aura dieser Jahreszeit und neben bekannten Opernarien interpretiert die umjubelte Sängerin verschiedene Lieder.
