"Fiddler on the Roof" is one of the most famous musicals, the plot of which is based on the prose of the Yiddish writer Sholem Aleichem. Set in the realities of tsarist Russia a century ago, it shows the everyday life of the inhabitants of Anatevka - both Jews and gentiles. The main characters are the milkman Tewje, his wife Golda and their young daughters. But in Fiddler on the Roof, as the milkman himself says at the beginning, there are others. The song "If I Were Rich", one of the most recognizable songs in the world, is the show's flagship song. No less beautiful and touching are "It's Dawn, It's Night", "My Flower" or the final "Anatewka". The premiere of the Lublin performance "Fiddler..." directed by Zbigniew Czeski took place on the stage of the legendary Kolejarz Culture Center in 1994. The same (and yet slightly different...), enjoying great popularity among viewers, can still be seen on the stage of our theater .
